FAQs

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS WHEN USING THE EXFOLIATING TONER PADS?

Visible results will depend upon how frequently the Toner Pads are applied.  The Toner Pads may be used as often as 2-3 times daily.  If the Toner Pads are applied frequently at the outset, you can expect to see an improvement in the appearance of your feet after 1 week.  However, everyone is different so we suggest allowing 2 weeks of daily usage, preferably twice a day to see good results.

It would be best to use the pads daily for up to 1 month to achieve the best results.  After a month of usage, one application per day for maintenance should be fine.  Please remember also to allow the Exfoliating Toner to dry a little once applied before getting dressed.  No additional product should be applied afterwards as it could impact the effectiveness of the toner which already includes a moisturizer.

If, however, applying moisturizer is important to you, we recommend the Roots & Bloom Luxe Butter Cream.  This cream was formulated with ingredients that will complement the Exfoliating Toner instead of counteracting its beneficial effects.

MY FEET ARE DRY, HARD AND CRACKED, WOULD THIS REALLY HELP?  WHICH OF YOUR ROOTS & BLOOM PRODUCTS WOULD HELP THE MOST?

We recommend starting with the Exfoliating Toner Pads.  They will give you the best results in a timely fashion.  I would recommend following the detailed directions listed in the answer above.  However, if your feet are extremely dry and cracked, we would also advise you to use a pumice stone during bath or shower once a week.  The pumice stone should be applied gently and briefly around the entire foot just to assist the exfoliation process once per week.  The Exfoliating Toner and Luxe Butter Cream may still be applied afterward.

I CAN ONLY AFFORD TO BUY ONE PRODUCT RIGHT NOW.  WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO START?

If you can only afford one product right now, we would highly recommend the Exfoliating Toner.  Using  our Roots & Bloom Exfoliating Toner as directed will get the job done.  In addition, the Toner includes a generous supply of 75 pads.  After you have achieved the desired result, you may reduce usage to once per day or every other day.

MY TONER PADS ARE VERY MOIST AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME FOR MY FEET TO DRY.  WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If your Toner Pads are too moist, we recommend removing the container lid, pressing down with a finger on the Toner Pads to squeeze out some of the toner, and then draining the runoff into a container to save.  The Toner Pads should be a little less moist now.  We would not discard the toner fluid, however, as you may wish to add it back in if the pads end up being too dry.  Please be sure to place the jar lid on tightly after each use to prevent the pads from drying out.

HOW LONG WILL THE TONER PADS LAST?

There are 75 pads in a container, so how long each 4 oz.  container will last depends upon frequency of use.  Once the desired result is achieved, however, the pads need only be applied once per day or every other day for maintenance purposes.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE THE TONER PADS?

We recommend 2-3 times per day until the appearance of your feet improves.  Once per day, thereafter should be fine to maintain smooth, soft feet.

CAN I APPLY MY FAVORITE MOISTURIZER AFTER ALLOWING A FEW MINUTES FOR THE TONER TO DRY?

We do not recommend using any additional moisturizer on your feet afterward as it may change the pH balanced of the product, thereby reducing its effectiveness.  In addition, the Toner already includes a moisturizing agent which will become more apparent over time as the dead, dry skins sheds away.  However, if using a moisturizer is important to you, we recommend allowing a minute or two for the Toner to be fully absorbed before applying your favorite moisturizer.  Also, we highly recommend the Roots & Bloom Luxe Butter Cream which has been formulated to work well with the Exfoliating Toner.

I FIND THE TONER AND THE LOTION TO BE SLIGHTLY IRRITATING TO MY SKIN.  WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

If the Toner Pads or Luxe Butter Cream causes irritation, we recommend reducing the frequency of use.  If the irritation persists using less frequently, we recommend discontinuing use.

I’VE BEEN USING THE PRODUCT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND I DON’T SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT.

If you do not see a difference after using the product for 2 weeks, we recommend increasing the application up to 2-3x per day and gently exfoliating during shower/bath once a week.  In addition, using the Luxe Butter Cream and the Serum should help.

I REALLY LOVE USING THE SERUM, BUT THE DIRECTIONS ADVISE USING IT JUST ONCE/TWICE A WEEK.  CAN I USE IT MORE FREQUENTLY?

Yes.  You may use the Roots & Bloom Serum as often as you like.  We recommend that you add a dose  of this nutrient packed moisturizer to your weekly routine once a week at a minimum to revitalize your feet and to  keep them as healthy and soft as possible.  However, it is safe to use as often as you desire.

SHOULD I CONTINUE TO GET MY PEDICURES TWICE A MONTH?

Speaking from our collective experience, we have not found it necessary to undergo the whole foot soak, foot scrub and manual exfoliation process typical of the Spa Pedicure once you start and continue using the Roots & Bloom Toner Pads.  Nowadays, the members of our staff will typically get pedicures as a special treat or if a polish change is needed.

In addition, we have heard from at least one client who says that an aggressive manual exfoliation of the feet can render the Toner Pads a little less effective.  We are not entirely sure why except to guess that the heavy scaling of the feet might encourage a rapid regrowth of the skin and hence the build-up of dead skin cells.

DO I NEED TO DO A MANUAL EXFOLIATION WHILE USING THIS PRODUCT?

Our Roots & Bloom products will help to exfoliate dead, built up dry skin from your feet and soften calluses. Your feet should end up feeling soft and smooth. However, while our products may soften calluses, they will not eliminate or prevent the development of calluses in areas of the feet that experience a lot of friction.  A manual exfoliation, however, might be helpful in the removal of calluses, but that is not our area of expertise.
